Apparently you -really- need tsddd.dll in C:\windows\system32 on Windows 2003 servers to make the Terminal Service work (important to do remote desktop administration). This is some sort of Frame Buffer Display Driver. In the Services application it will look like the service is started. But with netstat -an you can see nothing is listening on port 3389. The error you will see in the Event Viewer after a reboot, is that the module is illegal. This not true, it's just missing. Copy it from another server and everything will work smoothly again. How the file disappeared is a mystery to me.

Google didn't really help me out, hence a blog post :-)

At the moment we're driving to New York City. I am enjoying Verizon nation-wide wireless broadband. We're heading to Helllab 4. Only 40 people are allowed to attend to this party. So it's small, intimate, and fun :-)

Gisteren kwamen ik en maarten een man tegen in een cocktailbar in madrid. We hebben gezellig gepraat, en op een gegeven moment hadden we het over werk. Hij zei dat hij werkte voor een financieel bedrijf dat iets met cosmetica bedrijven doet en was daar 'financial controller'. Tegen het einde van de avond zei hij dat wij wel mochten shoppen in de personeelswinkel. Vanochtend vroeg zijn justin en ik naar een vaag kantoorcomplex gegaan, en jawel... hebben daar in 20 minuten heel snel het een en ander opgepikt. We hadden helaas enorme haast omdat we nog een vliegtuig moesten halen. Voor nog geen 85 euro heb ik de volgende items meegenomen:

- kenzo pour homme fresh (erg jam jam!)
- givenchy's fast forward (ook erg jam jam!)
- dior's hypnotic poison (cadeautje voor mijn moeder)
- dior's pure poison (voor marina <3 )
- flower by kenzo (nog niet helemaal besloten wat er mee te doen)

Dear All,

The following solution is pretty good if you have a pxe environment with a lot of freebsd, but with different hardware, kernels & configs. With this method you can have a true loader.conf based on the dhcp.host-name variable in the pxeboot loader(8). (Or IP, MAC, whatever).

If a diskless machine boots with pxe, it will ask the dhcp server for some information. Then it will try to load the following files in this order:

/boot/loader.rc
/boot/loader.4th
/boot/support.4th
/boot/defaults/loader.conf
/boot/loader.conf
/boot/loader.conf.local
/loader.conf.d/webservers1.rc
/loader.conf.d/webservers1.conf

The last 2 files are for you to modify. This way you have full control over the boot process.

use the following /boot/loader.rc

include /boot/loader.4th

Maybe one day....

We run vpopmail & qmailadmin on NFS these days, and changing passwords & adding new email accounts wouldn't work for some reason. Apparently the problem is solved if you compile vpopmail without filelocking, and recompile qmailadmin.

I plan on moving from cdb files asap to mysql.
